The member schools encourage the attendance of students, parents and interested members of the community at all athletic events. We further encourage their active support of these programs by participating in those activities which lend themselves to stimulating student achievement, good sportsmanship, and school spirit. These activities should be positive in nature and within the guidelines of the PIAA Code of Conduct. It is not our intent to reduce the involvement of spectators or the enjoyment of those who participate. Rather, it is our goal to create an atmosphere which is conducive to healthy athletic competition, is safe for those involved, and which provides the ideals of sportsmanship and sound educational practices.

SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT (Violators of this Code are subject to eviction from the site.)

  1. Spectators are an important part of the game and shall at all times conform to accepted standards of good sportsmanship and behavior.
  2. Spectators shall at all times respect officials, coaches and players and extend all courtesies to them.
  3. Wholesome cheering is encouraged.
  4. Taunting, foul and abusive language, noisemakers, inflammatory remarks, and disrespectful signs and behavior are not acceptable.
  5. Faculty supervised pep bands are permitted during dead ball time. However, spectator noise makers or sound devices are prohibited.
  6. Spectators shall observe and obey the rules and regulations of the school concerning smoking, food and soft drink consumption, and use of lavatory facilities and parking of cars.
  7. Pennsylvania State law prohibits alcoholic beverages of any kind on school property; the law further prohibits any person under the influence of alcohol to be on school property.
  8. Spectators shall respect and obey all school officials, supervisors, and police at all athletic contests.
  9. Bookbags/backpacks are not permitted into the stadium/gymnasium. Drinks are also not permitted to be brought into the stadium/gymnasium.

Information Regarding Sport Physicals for Fall 2017!!!

Dear Parent/Guardian of Student-Athletes:

In order to participate (includes try-outs) in any sport at Kennett High School, your child must have a completed PIAA CIPPE form (Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation) and the KCSD participation fee and form turned into the Athletic Office before the 1st day of tryouts/practice for a particular sport. The 1st day of tryouts/practice for the 2017-18 school year sports are as follows: Fall Sports start Monday, August 14, 2017, Winter Sports start Friday, November 17, 2017, and Spring Sports start Monday, March 5, 2018.

According to the PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association), all sport physicals for the 2017-18 school year must be performed ON OR AFTER JUNE 1, 2017. Only 1 physical is needed for the entire school year, provided no physical changes occur to the student-athlete.

You may sign up for a school physical or arrange for a physical on your own. Regardless of your choice to obtain a physical, the physical forms can be picked up in the main office at the high school or they can be downloaded directly from our website at (Physical Info. & Forms Link).

School sports physicals will be held on Tuesday, JUNE 27 (9:00am-12:00pm and then 1:00 pm-3:00pm,) at the NOVACARE REHABILITATION CENTER, 689 Unionville Road, Suite 1, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

To sign-up for a school physical you need the following:

  1. A non-refundable $10.00 school sports physical fee (cash or check payable to Kennett High School). If this fee creates a hardship for any family, assistance will be available (contact Mrs. Nancy Graves at 610-444-2416).
  2. A completed PIAA CIPPE form.
  • The physical fee and the completed PIAA CIPPE forms are to be turned into the Athletic Office by Monday, JUNE 12, 2017, if you wish to sign up for a school sports physical. No appointment will be scheduled until both items are completed and returned to the Athletic Office. If the Athletic Office receives the CIPPE form and the non-refundable fee after JUNE 12, 2017, you will have to arrange for your own physical (sorry, scheduling purposes)…NO EXCEPTIONS. After the deadline, a schedule will be created and your child will be given the date and time of their physical, as we will still be in school (for incoming 9th graders, either we will make contact with your child at KMS or a letter will be sent home alerting you of the information you need). THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP EXAMINATIONS AND NO REFUNDS. If your child misses the appointment, he/she or you will have to arrange for their own physical.

KCSD requires a participation fee and form in order to participate in any sport at KHS. The form (which has all the necessary information and specifics) can be picked up in the main office at the high school or can be downloaded from our website at (Physical Info. & Forms Link). As with the PIAA CIPPE Form, the Participation Fee and Form need to be completed, turned in, and on file in the high school athletic office before an athlete can tryout or practice with a team.

I hope this information serves its purpose. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the High School Athletic Office at 610-444-6632 or or
